Work with the experts in pile cutting and removal
We have extensive experience of cutting and removing offshore marine structures, including wind farm monopiles. Our in-house engineering team are well equipped to deal with any scenario and in the harshest of marine environments.
Our proprietary decommissioning tool can be used to drill and pin the top of the monopile, with water-jet cutting nozzles deployed on the outer ring to abrasively cut the monopile wall.
The monopile can then be cut into recoverable sections down to the seabed, brought onboard and delivered onshore for disposal.
We also offer internal cutting. The IPC (Internal Pile Cutter) is deployed by vessel crane or independent winch system into the open top of the pile. Once lowered to the agreed cut elevation, the integral centralising arms and nozzle assembly are extended. Abrasive material is introduced to the high-pressure water and a full cutting pass is completed, including a 10ΒΊ overcut to ensure complete severance.
The circumferential movement of the cutting head is controlled using hydraulics, with the cutting process monitored by a radial encoder that gives the operator accurate real-time readings of the nozzle position within the pile.
