Dry rods may be used for initial back-pressure valve installation. However, once a well is subject to pressure, there is a requirement for a polished rod lubricator to safely retrieve and reinstall the back-pressure valve from a tubing hanger.

Due to the varying designs of wellheads and Xmas trees, the use of polished rod lubricators must be engineered to suit each application.

Claxton can supply:

  • Bespoke cross-overs to interface with swab cap assemblies
  • Most sizes of 1-way and 2-way back pressure valves
  • Multi-skilled personnel to operate the polished rod lubricator

Our expert view

“Claxton can provide multi-skilled personnel to run the polished rod lubricator offshore to ensure the operation is performed safely and without risk. This could be part of a package on a wider scope of work or on an ad hoc basis.”
