Claxton’s bespoke dropped object prevention methods reduce risk and increase the overall efficiency of decommissioning campaigns.

Dropped objects are a concern during any offshore operation and can pose a particular threat during the decommissioning lifecycle phase. Over the years, Claxton has developed numerous equipment and tools to mitigate the risk of dropped objects.

We understand that the risk of dropped objects is heightened when working with ageing corroded assets which is why we have solutions specifically for well cutting and recovery operations. These include:

  • Drilling and pinning the multi-string conductors, therefore, not relying on the degrading cement bond during recovery
  • Conductor end caps for protection during the recovery process
  • Conductor anchor and catch tools to be used in case of failing connectors
