Well cutting solutions
From rigless surface well cutting solutions in the Gulf of Mexico, through to deepwater well severance and recovery challenges in the North Sea, Claxton has been supporting clients with their well abandonment projects for over 30 years.
By partnering with us before an asset is on the verge of ceasing production, we can help maximise efficiency. Claxton’s technology solutions for well abandonment are used in platform, subsea, rigless and vessel-based campaigns and we have cut over 400 wells globally with a track record in Europe, the Far East, and the Americas, with solutions delivering up to 25% efficiency savings.
The well abandonment process also requires a unique set of skills and expertise to drive operational efficiency and ensure project reliability. With over 3,000 specialist severance and retrieval projects successfully completed for clients around the world, we are the decommissioning experts.
A BESPOKE RIGLESS CUTTING AND RECOVERY SOLUTION FOR TWO PLATFORMS USING SABRE™
As part of their wider decommissioning programme in the Southern North Sea, an operator called on Claxton to abandon seven platform wells, plus one abandoned tieback well, across two of their platforms. This was a challenge which Claxton was ideally qualified for, given our track record of successful decommissioning campaigns in the North Sea over the past 23 years.
WHY TRUST US?
Claxton is uniquely positioned to innovatively solve clients’ offshore operating challenges and add value to projects to achieve overall increased efficiency.
our expert view
“Ageing wells are an ever-growing challenge for operators. Many of the well interfaces are obsolete, which means that well intervention equipment sometimes needs to be developed specifically for a campaign. The Claxton decommissioning team works closely with the operators to understand the project requirements to achieve a bespoke end-to-end solution.”
