Drilling, tiebacks, templates & structures
Flexible solutions to improve field economics
Claxton’s drilling tiebacks and templates provide alternative methodologies for drilling and developing a field to improve economics, whilst subsea protective structures provide protection of the subsea assets and even fishing gear in some cases.
The key to a successful campaign requires addressing issues not routinely encountered in conventional drilling or jacket installation projects. We can mitigate these potential issues to avoid cost overruns from time-related inefficiencies, to ensure that the tieback of the pre-drilled wells is economical.
Some of the interrelated engineering and operational processes typically fall outside the normal experience of the key stakeholders, and by assisting the operator with these niche interfaces, Claxton adds value by saving rig/barge time and also by ensuring a successful project outcome.
SUBSEA PROTECTIVE STRUCTURE FOR EAST DAVY FIELD
A major operator asked Claxton to provide technical advice and guidance for the design, specification, manufacture and supply of a structure to protect subsea distribution and umbilical termination assemblies for the Davy East field in the Southern North Sea. The design of the structure needed to consider the seabed bearing strata and be fishing friendly so fishing nets and gravel boards could pass over it without snagging.
