Conductor stump recovery
A turnkey service incorporating Claxton’s latest innovations
Claxton’s conductor stump recovery package offers the flexibility, tooling and resources to recover conductor stumps, either riglessly or rig-based, by using multi-platform deployable equipment.
The package provides a turnkey cutting and recovery service solution by incorporating Claxton’s innovations and field-proven technologies including our SABRE™ abrasive cutting system and modular lifting tools incorporating dropped object protection. These systems can be teamed with the Claxton multi-string recovery system or deployed from a rig or vessel.
Based on over two decades of decommissioning experience, with a predominant market share in the North Sea, Claxton’s conductor stump recovery package has been proven on numerous projects. Claxton’s equipment is operated by a team of multi-skilled experts, which keeps personnel on board (POB) to a minimum.
SABRE™ SUBSEA ABRASIVE JET CUTTING SYSTEM USED TO ABANDON CAMELOT
There are serious doubts about whether King Arthur’s Camelot ever really existed. In contrast, the UK North Sea gas fields and production platform of the same legendary name certainly did, though the evidence is disappearing rapidly. The complete decommissioning of the North Sea Camelot fields and the removal of Camelot Alpha platform began in earnest at the start of 2012 with the plugging and abandonment of the fields’ six platform wells. This was followed by the severance of the well casings some 5 m below the seabed, a task for which Claxton was ideally qualified for.
