Claxton completed Hammer projects in the UK & Canada back to back

UK North Sea & Eastern Canada

Claxton Engineering Services, alongside our service partner Technip, provided the complete subsea hammer spread for two different projects in two continents back to
back in June - July 2024.

The first project was completed in the UKCS for Harbour Energy, within their Talbot and Judy Fields.

The Judy workscope was 4x 24” SSIV piles driven 12 meters into the seabed, whereas the Talbot operation was to place 4x Subsea Manifold Piles and ensure they were driven 20 meters into the seabed.

This was then followed by redressing the hammers to suit the 1x 36” mooring pile configuration before mobilisation in Newfoundland, Canada in the West White Rose field for Cenovus Energy.

This required project management for two separate projects involving two separate client project teams. One situated in Aberdeen, UK and the other in Newfoundland, Canada.

In the week between the projects the hammer spread required redressing to suit different size piles, while a System Integration Test was also required and offshore crew sent to N. America.

Both projects were delivered on schedule with no down time recorded, with operational continuity maintained but utilising the same crew across both projects.
