Pile Installation in Great Yarmouth Harbour
Claxton’s IQIP S90 hydraulic hammer recently completed the successful installation of piles ranged from 508mm, 1,016mm & 1,219mm as part of a challenging marine project in Great Yarmouth Harbour.
Operations were conducted from a Jack-Up Barge and the piles were being installed as part of a cofferdam project within the harbour.
Supplied with interchangeable sleeves to accommodate varying pile sizes, the S90 was on rental to Teignmouth Maritime Services, who specifically selected this hammer for its operating features.
This project presented unique challenges, including pile driving near submerged gas mains. Thanks to meticulous planning, strong communication, and expert engineering, all piles were safely driven to the required penetration.
