LATEST NEWS: Claxton achieves four years without lost-time incident
Claxton, an Acteon company, has reached a target of four years without a single lost-time incident (LTI). This is when an employee, as a result of an injury, is unable to perform their regular duties for one full shift or more.
The company operations span three bases, four storage yards and works across numerous offshore locations in the UK and globally.
Peter Carrier, Claxton’s QHSSE Director, said, “Four years LTI equates to over one million man hours. When you talk in those figures this milestone is a real endorsement to our safety culture and acknowledgement of the efforts of our staff. Their participation in safety, whether at our location or on a clients, has been second to none and their high regard for this is frequently commented on.
“Health and safety is not a sexy subject (except for HSE teams) and an everyday “duty of care” requires focus and diligence to make every day a safe day. Our teams have proved that HSE is at the forefront of other management processes”
Due to the significant focus placed on HSE, the QHSSE department has become an integral function of the company and its operations. For clients in particularly, this means that Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental management are at the forefront of their projects with Claxton – from pre-planning, kick-off through to implementation and project completion.
Carrier continues, “As part of our continuous improvement programme here at Claxton we have enhanced our ISO registration scope. The new scope, now approved and registered by NQA, better defines our business areas and available services. This is a real asset particularly when a client is looking for the right company to ‘make it happen’.”
As part of the multi-site global registration the certification covers the design, manufacture, assembly, supply, installation, maintenance and servicing of pre-drilling, drilling and production equipment, asset life extension and well decommissioning equipment and services.
