Laura Claxton – finalist for the prestigious Business Woman of the Year Award 2015

We are very proud to announce that Laura Claxton, MD of Claxton Engineering was nominated and shortlisted for the prestigious Business Woman of the Year 2015 award.

The 33rd Vitalise Women of the Year Luncheon & Awards took place on Friday 9th October 2015 at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole. The event highlights and celebrates women’s achievements in business and society, to promote role models and to inspire women to reach their potential.

Previous Winners of the award have included Baroness Karren Brady CBE and Vice-Chairman of West Ham United FC, Hilary Devey CBE and Chief Executive and Chairman of the Pall-Ex Group, and Sarah Tremellen MBE and Owner and Founder of Bravissimo.

Laura was nominated for her role as Managing Director and how she has led Claxton through many years of successful growth both in the UK and internationally. Between 2006 and 2014 the annual turnover has nearly quadrupled and with a workforce of nearly 150 employees, Claxton now operates in offices in Norway, Singapore and the UAE as well as the UK.

The event hosted by Suzanne Virdee, Nick Owen, and Penelope Viscountess Cobham CBE included a stunning fashion show and speeches from successful business women across a number of industries.

Claxton Engineering would like to congratulate all six truly inspirational finalists whose business stories were all worthy of the award. We would like to particularly applaud overall winner Dr Sharon Redrobe CEO of Twycross Zoo who has invigorated the traditional business, attracting 500,000 visitors a year, from a loss-making charity into one generating surplus within two years and driven a new strategic vision.
