Why operators need to start thinking about structural centralizers earlier

Lifecycle stage

Without a doubt, brownfield and exploration projects are set to drop off the ‘things to do list’ of operators in 2015.

Confirmed by BP in their latest financial report, their underlying profits in the final 3 months of 2014 were down 20% on a year earlier at $2.2bn. For the 12 months, profits fell 10% overall.

Blaming the downturn in oil prices, which have fallen by half in the past 6 months, BP said it would be slashing its capital expenditure plans by $6bn this year, as well as writing down $3.6bn of their assets.

With this in mind, operators are quite clearly looking to capitalise on their current assets and centralizers can play a major role in any asset life extension project.

From harsh environments in the North Sea to low-load applications in the Far East, centralizers can assure integrity, demonstrate stability and save operational time and cost simultaneously.
