LATEST NEWS: Claxton awarded centralizer work on the Norwegian continental shelf
Claxton, an Acteon company, has been awarded two contracts to provide conductor guide centralization for operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The Norwegian sector has a high level of focus on the planning stage of any given offshore project. Having been invited at the early stages in the tender process to evaluate the operator’s challenges, this enabled Claxton to advise on initial design specifications to simplify the centralization systems of both projects.
This type of early intervention has allowed Claxton to be successful in the Norwegian sector previously, where in the last five years we have provided centralizers to all the major new developments.
Whilst appearing to be simple devices, centralizers provide a service at a critical interface between the platform structure and the well – where the conditions imposed upon the conductors can be severe.
The Environmental loads for both projects are considerable however both operators feel Claxton are ideally qualified to supply a design matching the loading requirements from the riser analysis.
